Update: Nexus 5 to be announced on Halloween?

Nexus 5

By now everyone and their mother has been discussing when Google is going to finally officially announce the new Google operating system known worldwide as KitKat 4.4 after the candy bar with same name. Even more people are dying to when they can get their hands on the new entry into the increasing popular Google Nexus program, the Google Nexus 5.

Speaking of getting your hands on the new Nexus 5, seems Twitter User @Gavinphelan12 already has, and he is loving it. He has been posting pictures all morning and has said that Google will, in fact, announce the highly anticipated device on October 31st, otherwise known as Halloween.

If this is true it would give more insight into why Google teamed up with and named the new version of their operating system after the KitKat candy. Google has also been running promotions to win a new Nexus 7 2013 or a $5 Google Play Store credit in specially marked packages of KitKat candy bars.

Update: Looks like Nergi Electronics is beginning to take pre-orders for the Nexus 5, in both white and black, 16 and 32GB models. The devices are GSM unlocked it seems, so no luck for Sprint or Verizon customers just yet. But this makes the claim that they’re going to be announced tomorrow that much more credible.

Head here on Nergi Electronics website to pre-order now, and let us know if you did!
